How long is a DOWU trip?

Our caribbean retreats are 5-7 nights long. While we also offer shorter 2-3 night weekend getaways. We can plan a trip as short as 2 nights for you!

Is there an age requirement to attend? 

Most retreats are 21 years and over, but we also offer experiences for all ages.

What kind of people attend DOWU trips?

People with an interest in travel, wellness, adventure or meeting new friends. Someone entering a new chapter in their life or maybe trying things for the fist time. Sometimes people just want to relax and have fun.

Is it ok to attend alone?

Absolutely. We welcome solo travelers, groups, couples, all are welcome. We have different villa settings depending on your preferred accommodations. Either way, expect to make a handful of new friends. 

Do I have to participate in all the retreat activities?

Of course not. We simply offer a suggested schedule of activities. You get to pick what sounds good and participate in what you want.

What kind of activities do you offer?

We offer yoga, beach workouts, guided meditation, body work, traditional Mayan rituals, adventures, expeditions, creative workshops, etc. 

Do you offer vegan, gluten-free meals, etc?

We offer meal arrangements upon request. Please let us know at the time you book.

What kind of food do you serve?

Food that nourishes your body and also tastes good! Expect the best of the best when it comes to our cuisine. Fresh fruit and regional dishes for breakfast, the catch of the day for lunch, a neighborhood joint for dinner, or a family-style meal served at home.

Do you serve alcohol during the retreat?

Most of our retreats offer complimentary wine and beer, as well as special theme-inspired cocktails during different times of the day. We request no alcohol consumption 1 day prior to certain ceremonial days, and one day after is suggested as well.

What if I've never practiced yoga?

That's no problem at all. Our instructors are there to teach you. One of the many benefits of smaller retreats is the one-on-one attention available to learn or improve your skills. 

What is the cost to attend?

Expect to pay $1500-2500 USD per person for our caribbean retreats, depending on your accommodation preferences. Prices vary so please reference each retreat for accurate pricing.
